Standards-Based Teaching

The Illinois Learning Standards are a common set of expectations to help Illinois deliver quality public education for all students. The Standards tell parents, students, teachers and the public what knowledge and skills children need to succeed in life. They were developed at the direction of the General Assembly in 1997 after nearly three years of study with the input of nearly 28,000 Illinois citizens. Sandwich CUSD #430 and the Illinois State Board of Education are committed to fully implementing the Standards.
