| WIND
ENSEMBLE/CONCERT BAND: These are the two curricular bands. By
audition process, sophomores through seniors are assigned to either
the Wind Ensemble or the Concert Band. All freshman are in the
Concert Band. There is no audition for freshman to be in the
Concert Band. The bands will each have 4 shared concerts throughout
the year. These ensembles will focus on concert literature ranging
from transcriptions of early instrumental music to contemporary
musical works. Attention will be placed on developing individual
tone quality, reading ability and good ensemble playing techniques.
RENEGADE REGIMENT: The Renegade Regiment is the competitive marching
band. This band competes during the summer and fall with other
marching bands. There bands (Summer Regiment and Fall Regiment) are
voluntary and meet outside the school day. This band is open to all
who are interested. There is no audition.
JAZZ BAND: The jazz program is open to all by audition.
Depending on interest there may be more than one band. The jazz
bands performs 3 - 5 times through the year.
MARCHING INDIANS: The Marching Indians is a voluntary marching
band, which performs at home football games (4 or 5) and in the
Homecoming Parade. This band is open to all who are interested.
There is no audition.
PEP BAND: Orange Crush Pep Band is a voluntary band during the
2nd and 3rd quarters. The Pep Band performs at 10 - 12 home
basketball games during December - February. |
