SMS History Club

History Club

The Sandwich Middle School History Club was founded on the principal that students should have the opportunity to experience historically-themed sites to encourage an interest in our nation's past. Our first year saw the club participate in many activities. This year is looking to be even more exciting! We will continue the outstanding field trip program that was started last year, while expanding it to include new historically-significant sites. The SMS History Club will also take an active role in helping the school celebrate several historically-significant holidays including Veterans Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, African American History Month, and Casmir Pulaski Day.

The SMS History club meets after school on the third Thursday of each month. These meetings are 30-minutes long and are used primarily to promote and plan for upcoming field trips. Occasionally, the club's meetings will last one hour, where we will participate in an activity in one of the social sciences.
