What We Are Offering:

Sandwich Middle School is proud to offer a trip to our nation's capital city in Washington, DC in February 2012. The trip is open to ALL 2011-2012 eighth grade students at SMS. Our trip to Washington, DC, will be provided through BrightSpark Student Travel. BrightSpark has over 40 years of experience in offering school tours and is a member of the Student and Youth Travel Association (SYTA) and the National Tour Association (NTA). They are also an Accredited Travel Provider through SYTA, exceeding rigorous standards of industry regulations and requirements. Our 2012 educational tour will travel to Washington, DC, from February 15-20, 2012. Travel accommodations are being provided by motor coach to keep the cost of the trip as low as possible. All fees are included in the cost of the trip including transportation, admission to tour stops, hotel room fees, all meals, and a group photo. We encourage students to bring additional money with them to spend on souveniers while in the nation's capital.

Our 2012 Tour Is Scheduled!

Our 2012 Washington Educational Tour has been scheduled for February 15-20, 2012, over the President's Day weekend. The Sandwich CUSD #430 Board of Education has once again allowed all participants to be excused from school for classes on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Students will still be expected to complete any missed assignments.

Fundraising Opportunities To Be Available

Students who help staff the concessions counter at home sporting events during the volleyball, boys' basketball, girls' basketball, or the wrestling season can earn a discount on the price of their trip. Sign-up will be available in Mr. Crawley's classroom.

Touring Fees:
The fee to participate as a member of the 2012 Washington Educational Tour begins at $874.00, plus any room and/or refund guarantee fees that you may choose to add to your child's tour package.

Lodging & Meals:
Participants are housed four to a room (one double bed & one sofa bed) and three meals are provided daily.
